Plainfield Symphony Orchestra Mourns Hal Prince

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 31, Plainfield, NJ – The Plainfield Symphony Orchestra (PSO), New Jersey’s oldest community symphony, mourns the death of Broadway legend Hal Prince, father of Charles Prince, PSO’s music director. Prince passed away on July 31 after a brief illness.

“Hal and his wife Judy were familiar faces at PSO concerts and after parties,” said Rebecca Perkins, PSO President. “He clearly relished his role as ‘Charley’s father’ and took great pride in watching his son conduct.”

“Hal and Judy were generous supporters of PSO as well,” Perkins added. “His presence and support were an inspiration to all of us on the Board of Trustees and to the orchestra members. It was always thrilling to know that he was in the room.”

“All of us at PSO send our condolences to Charles and his family,” Perkins said. “We can only imagine the void that will be left in the lives of those who loved him, but his vision and talent will live on in the joy and awe felt by everyone who has ever seen a Hal Prince production. His memory will forever be a blessing to all of us whose lives have been enriched by his genius.”
